About Jianmei

A native Chinese Mandarin speaker, has been a teacher of two Chinese Sunday schools and now is a teacher of a Language Centre.

A trained and qualified examiner of GCSE Chinese Speaking test.

Being a mother, a professional person in education, and living in the UK for many years, I understand British young people and wish to help them develop skills to build a career in areas relating to China and the Chinese society.

About the lesson

Very familiar with HSK, GCSE and A Level examination criteria

Many years' experience of teaching different background learners who may be very young children, school students, professional office workers, bankers or businessmen.

Have been very passionate at teaching the young children for many years. As a patient tutor, I pay a lot of attention to children's reaction, adjust my teaching accordingly, and give praise for their good performance appropriately. I apply different teaching methods for keeping children curious at the learning. The teaching is dynamic, interactive, practical and full of fun.

For young learners, I always try to understand their career aspiration and motivation of studying Chinese first, then decide the teaching and learning strategy and learning outcomes. Based on that, I recommend appropriate learning materials and describe teaching and learning details to them. The teaching and learning is then adjusted to suit the learner's progress during the teaching and learning sessions.

The teaching for mature learners is goal oriented and problem solving. I have extensive knowledge in education, cultural exchange, business, and science & engineering, which enable me to teach in many different fields.

My tutoring is flexible, teaching time and venue can be negotiated. I design different teaching styles to suit different learners' needs. It could be intensified sessions for busy people who want to improve their Chinese quickly. Or interesting sessions to promote learners' learning interest for sustained study. All teaching can cover pronunciation, conversations, reading, writing and grammar.
