About Joseph

If you are looking to learn about and implement machine learning, then I will be a great tutor for you. I have a master's degree in data science, 5 years professional experience and 2 years experience as a tutor.

I have helped many students understand the key concepts of machine learning, provided hands on programming lessons and assisted with coursework. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing my students grow in confidence and ability, and I’m excited to be a part of your journey.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching
I have a relaxed and friendly approach to tutoring, while ensuring we reach your desired outcomes.

My teaching covers:
- Theoretical Understanding: Explaining key concepts in machine learning and data science to build a strong understanding of the subject.
- Hands-On Coding: Working through codebases, debugging, and implementing algorithms together to reinforce learning through practice.
- Coursework and Problem Solving: Assisting with coursework and going over question papers.

Typical Lesson Length
Lessons are one hour long but can be adjusted as needed to fit your requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
I hold a master’s degree in Data Science and have two years of tutoring experience. My professional background includes five years in industry, working on machine learning projects across startups and finance.

The tech stack I use:
- Python
- SQL
- Excel

I specialise in machine learning topics:
- Supervised Learning: Regression, classification and tree-based algorithms (scikit-learn, XGBoost).
- Unsupervised Learning: Clustering and dimensionality reduction (scikit-learn, scipy, umap-learn).
- Deep Learning: Neural networks, including feedforward networks, convolutional networks (CNNs) and recurrent networks (RNNs) (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
