Hi everyone!

In today's lesson, we'll be learning about Python. We'll start by going over some of the basics of the language and then move on to some more advanced topics. Tony will be leading the lesson and he's really great at keeping things interesting and easy to understand. So let's get started!

Tony's classes are designed to be quick and to the point. He covers just enough material to advance the topic, without overwhelming the students. He is upbeat and energetic, and his goal is to get the students' code to compile and to understand what is going on. His lessons are short and sweet, with code in bite-sized chunks to satisfy the students' curiosity.

This class is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of programming with Python. In this class, you will learn about the different data types, how to create variables, and how to use the print statement. You will also learn about the different string methods, how to use the if statement, and how to create lists and dictionaries. By the end of this class, you will be able to write your own programs and understand the basics of Python programming.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

My first experience using a computer was a long time ago, back in the early 2000s. I remember setting up my Myspace page with HTML and playing with Neopets. It was a fun way to explore the internet and learn some basic coding skills.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The technological evolution that has marked me the most is machine learning. It's amazing to see how computers can learn from data and improve their performance over time. I believe that machine learning will continue to be a turning point in this field, as it has the potential to revolutionize many industries, from healthcare to finance to transportation.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise is in text-based games as a tool for learning to code and game development. I'm passionate about using games to teach programming because they can be a fun and engaging way to learn complex concepts. Text-based games are also a great way to get started with game development, as they don't require complex graphics or animations.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

While I admire the accomplishments of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg, my role model is actually Leonardo da Vinci. He was a true Renaissance man, with expertise in art, science, engineering, and many other fields. I strive to follow his example and pursue a wide range of interests and skills.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One valuable anecdote related to my subject is that I once had a student who was struggling to learn Python. I suggested that he try building a simple text-based game, and he ended up creating a really cool adventure game that impressed all of his classmates. It just goes to show that sometimes, a fun project can be the best way to learn something new!
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

To someone who says that IT is too complicated, I would say that while it can be challenging at first, it's also incredibly rewarding. Learning how to use computers and software effectively can make your life easier and more productive in countless ways. Plus, there are so many resources available online to help you learn, so don't be afraid to dive in and start exploring.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

Outside of IT, I'm passionate about art and science. I love exploring new ideas and experimenting with different mediums, whether it's painting, drawing, or sculpture. I'm also fascinated by the natural world and enjoy learning about physics, astronomy, and other scientific fields.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

What makes me a Superprof in IT is my passion for teaching and my ability to break down complex concepts into understandable pieces. I love helping students learn and grow, and I'm always looking for new ways to engage them and make the learning process more enjoyable. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced programmer, I'm here to help you achieve your goals and become a confident and capable developer.
