About Finlay
I have just graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Bachelor's in Music, and have already begun my musical career. I am a part of two thriving jazz and rock bands, playing trumpet in both. I have been a conductor and musical director for the University Jazz Orchestra, and two musicals at Cambridge's main local theatre, the ADC. I have composed music of a variety of genres, from a short opera to a jazz ballad to a choral work for a local play. I am now pursuing a career in Film and TV whilst maintaining my love of teaching music.

Lessons are usually 1 hour but can be adapted for students anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours if desired. I believe in students figuring out and understanding concepts independently, and use a Socratic method of teaching. I have a lot of experience teaching Music Theory in particular. I teach students of any age taking Grade 5 Music Theory, as well as GCSE and A-level students.
