About Peter
Engineering has been a genuine passion of mine for years, starting back in college with hands-on workshop experience in CNC machining and CAD, and growing into a full academic and professional journey that's now taken me through to a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I've always believed the best way to really understand something is to be able to explain it clearly to someone else, which is exactly why teaching has naturally become such a big part of how I learn and grow myself.
I want to teach because I know firsthand how intimidating maths and engineering concepts can seem at first, and how rewarding it is once they finally click. I run my own design business working hands-on with CAD and 3D printing every day, so I bring real, practical experience into every lesson rather than just textbook theory.
Outside of teaching, you'll usually find me designing something new, watching football, or relaxing with a good film. I'm patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping each student build real confidence in their subject, not just get through the next exam or project.

My approach to tutoring is practical and example-led: rather than just memorising formulae, I focus on connecting concepts to real, tangible applications so they actually make sense and stick. I find this works especially well for maths and engineering subjects, which can feel abstract until you see how they're used in practice.
I'm a graduate in Aerospace Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University, having previously studied Mechanical Engineering through an HNC and HND, both completed with Distinctions. I also run my own design business, so I work hands-on with CAD software and 3D printing technology daily, not just in theory.
Lessons typically run for an hour, though I'm happy to adjust this depending on what works best for you. My lessons are suited to GCSE and A-Level students needing maths support, university-level students studying engineering or aerospace topics, and anyone — hobbyists or professionals — looking to learn CAD design or 3D printing from the ground up. I'm patient, clear, and genuinely enjoy seeing students go from confused to confident.

I've been having lessons with Peter to help me figure out a direction for my Aerospace Engineering project, since I genuinely didn't know where to start. He talked me through his own UAV project, where he built and flight-tested two different prototype designs and compared things like thrust, efficiency, and vibration between different propeller setups. He kept it simple enough that I could actually follow the logic, even though I'm still pretty new to a lot of this.
By the end of the session I had a much clearer idea of what makes a strong project, how to structure testing properly, and what kind of results are worth focusing on. Peter's really patient and doesn't make you feel stupid for not knowing something yet, which made a big difference for me.
Would recommend him if you're studying engineering and need someone to help you actually understand your project, not just get through it.Peter helped me out loads with my engineering coursework, especially when I was stuck on CAD assignments and couldn't get my head around some of the calculations. He's really good at breaking things down step by step instead of just giving you the answer, so I actually understood what I was doing by the end of it rather than just copying something down.
He's patient too, which helped a lot since I had to ask him to explain a few things more than once before it clicked. Would definitely recommend him if you're struggling with maths or engineering stuff, especially CAD — he knows what he's talking about and explains it in a way that actually makes sense.See more recommendations
