About Yuka
Hi! My name is Yuka, born and grew up in Japan.
Living in New Zealand has given me a new perspective on Japanese culture, values, and history, and made me appreciate them even more. This inspired me to support people who want to learn about Japan through the Japanese language.
I personally enjoy watching foreign dramas and listening to music, especially in English and Korean, so I understand how exciting it is to learn a language while discovering a new culture.
I completed a university-wide minor in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language and have nearly a year of experience teaching Japanese.
With my background in education, I can work with you to find the learning methods that work best for you, while creating clear, practical lessons tailored to your interests and goals.

I offer fun and engaging Japanese lessons tailored to your interests, learning style, and goals.
I use Genki textbook for grammar, along with online articles and authentic materials to learn natural, everyday Japanese. If you have a specific textbook or topic you’d like to study, feel free to bring it to class!
I also create personalized materials based on students’ interests. For example, I once created a lesson about Japanese history combining practical vocabulary, expressions, and grammar.
We can practice speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, free conversation, and business Japanese in a comfortable and fun environment!
