Teaching Approach & Knowledge Sharing: My approach as a tutor is grounded in real-world production experience. I don’t teach theory in isolation or idealized workflows that fall apart on set. Every concept is tied to practical decision-making: why something is done, when it matters, and what to do when conditions are less than perfect. The goal is to build students who can think clearly under pressure, not just recite terminology. Teaching Methodology & Techniques I use a problem-based, hands-on methodology. Lessons are structured around real production scenarios, common mistakes, and constraints students will actually face. I emphasize visual examples, gear breakdowns, lighting diagrams, and step-by-step reasoning. Students are encouraged to ask practical “what if” questions and to justify creative choices, not just copy setups. Typical Lesson Structure A typical lesson begins with a short concept overview, followed by analysis of real examples from film, television, or online content. We then move into a practical exercise—lighting a scene, planning coverage, or solving a production problem. The session ends with review, troubleshooting, and discussion of how the same approach scales from student projects to professional sets.
