About Céline

- Native French
- 12 years of experience: 2 years in the University of Guelph, Canada, 2 years in Oxford Alliance française, 2 years in the Oxford school of French and 6 years as a freelance tutor.
- Patient, passionate and understanding. I studied English literature and French as a foreign language at university. I was inspired by my favourite language professors. Their passion shaped my teaching style, and today I strive to bring the same clear, encouraging, and enthusiastic approach to every lesson.
With 12 years of experience teaching French, I’ve had the pleasure of working with learners from all walks of life—each with unique goals, personalities, and ambitions. I’m proud to have helped them all make real, measurable progress.
In addition to teaching, I worked as a content developer for a language-learning platform, which means you’ll always get clear, practical explanations. If you have a grammar question, I’ll give you a straightforward answer—and make sure you can apply it confidently in real conversations.
Whether you are learning French for travel, work, romance, or cultural enrichment, I shall support you every step of the way. My aim is to help you speak with greater fluency, stay motivated, and enjoy every lesson.

My top tip? “Lâchez prise !” Yes—let go and watch the results follow!

Don’t worry about making mistakes; they’re an essential part of learning, and I truly don’t mind them. Think some rules make no sense? Lâchez prise ! French can be quirky—and that’s exactly what makes it beautiful. Afraid to mispronounce a word? Lâchez prise ! Worst case, we’ll share a good laugh and keep going.

Your lessons will be organised, engaging, and empowering. I promise you’ll learn something new each time—and you will be doing most of the talking!

Perfect! Céline is an outstanding teacher of the French language. There are three areas I feel set her apart from other tutors: 1) she took time at the beginning to really listen to my learning goals, and has tailored our lessons to achieve them; 2) she adapts each lesson to the venue, its surroundings and current events - e.g. a fun exercise on navigating Oxford and its traffic(!) in French; and 3) she creates a safe space for making lots of mistakes, returning to areas of improvement multiple times in multiple lessons to make sure you've learnt it. A friendly and professional teacher - highly recommended!

Céline is a fantastic French tutor. Her mother tongue is French but speaks exquisite English which enables her to explain everything so clearly. After only 20 classes I was able to live and work in France!!

She prepares a wide range of activities which include consolidating skills recently practised and introducing new materials to work towards our goals.
