About Emily

I am a Level 5 TEFL-qualified tutor with two years of teaching assistant experience and over 18 months of experience in exam invigilation. I also have a professional background in administration and customer service, which has given me valuable experience in written communication, organisation and professional interactions.

I offer practical, supportive English lessons tailored to individual learning goals, with a particular interest in Business English and workplace communication. I can help learners develop their spoken English, improve their professional writing in British English, prepare CVs and practise delivering presentations in English.

My approach is patient, encouraging and focused on helping students build confidence while developing useful communication skills. I understand that every learner has different strengths and challenges, so I aim to adapt lessons to suit individual needs and learning objectives.

Business English and workplace communication

I can help learners develop their professional English through practical activities covering workplace conversations, professional introductions, customer service communication, job interview preparation and business vocabulary.

CV writing in British English

I can help learners improve their CVs by focusing on British English spelling, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure and professional presentation. Lessons can cover how to describe skills, qualifications and work experience clearly and effectively.

English-language presentations

I can help learners prepare and practise presentations in English, develop appropriate professional vocabulary, improve pronunciation and work on speaking clearly and confidently in front of an audience.

My teaching methods

My approach is supportive, practical and student-centred. Depending on your goals, lessons can include guided conversations, role-play activities, grammar exercises, vocabulary development, pronunciation practice and realistic workplace scenarios. I aim to create a welcoming learning environment where students can practise at their own pace and build confidence.

My qualifications and experience

I hold a Level 5 TEFL qualification and have two years of experience working as a teaching assistant, alongside over 18 months of experience in exam invigilation. I also bring professional experience in administration and customer service, giving me an understanding of workplace communication and professional correspondence.
