About Sylvanna
I am currently an A-level student studying Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. Although I do not yet have formal tutoring experience, I have a strong academic understanding of the subjects I am applying to tutor. I am confident in my ability to explain concepts clearly, having regularly supported classmates by breaking down topics in a simple and accessible way.
I am applying for this role because I enjoy helping others understand challenging topics and building their confidence in subjects they may find difficult. I find it rewarding to see someone improve when things start to make sense for them. I would like to develop my communication and teaching skills while supporting younger students in reaching their academic goals in a positive and encouraging environment.

My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and focused on building both confidence and understanding. Although I do not have formal tutoring experience yet, I have a strong understanding of the subjects I am applying to tutor through my current A-level studies, and I regularly help classmates and peers by explaining topics in a clear and simple way.
My teaching approach involves breaking topics down into small, manageable steps and using worked examples to guide students through problems. I would adapt my explanations depending on the student’s level and learning style, and I encourage questions throughout to make sure they fully understand each step.
A typical lesson would last around 1 hour, allowing enough time to go through key concepts, practise questions, and address any areas of difficulty.
These lessons would mainly be aimed at A level students, where I can support students in building confidence and strengthening their understanding of core topics.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I am enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to helping students improve in a supportive and encouraging environment.
