About Navjot
Although I tutor all texts I have more advanced insights into ; Hamlet , Handmaids Tale , 1984 , Chaucer's The Merchants Tale , Goldsmith's She Stoops To Conquer
Having gone through the full rigour of A Level English Literature myself, I know exactly what is needed to achieve the highest grades. I achieved full marks in the Hamlet section and secured an A grade overall (A* for the non-NEA section), with examiner reports confirming my essays met the very top criteria. Because I have learnt first-hand what examiners look for, I focus on teaching the specific techniques for perfect essays, from structuring arguments to embedding critical perspectives. My approach also covers the most efficient ways to learn and retain content, so students feel confident and prepared. I begin my Law degree this September, and I bring that academic discipline into every lesson, ensuring my students combine deep appreciation of literature with the precision examiners reward.

My tutoring approach is examiner-specific and focused directly on what the board requires. I guide students to think deeply about texts while keeping lessons grounded in practical application — honing in on assessment objectives, mark schemes, and what examiners are truly looking for. A typical lesson lasts a minimum of 45 minutes, balancing close reading, essay planning, and targeted feedback. Having achieved 57/60 and 55/60 in OCR A Level English Literature exam components, with an overall A grade this year, I understand first-hand what it takes to secure top marks. My lessons are designed for A Level English Literature students who want structured, results-driven teaching that strengthens both analytical skills and exam performance ensuring the highest grades.
