About MD Sabbir
Md Sabbir al Shafi is an accomplished STEM Mentor and technologist with a rich background in programming, robotics, and AI technologies. Holding a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Varendra University, he has taught over 1,200 students throughout his career, focusing on hands-on learning in STEM education.
With over two years of experience teaching block coding, Microbit, and Scratch programming at Artificial Intelligence Bangladesh, Md Sabbir has played a pivotal role in shaping young learners’ skills in programming and robotics. He has also contributed to Bangladesh Computer Council, further enhancing his teaching portfolio.
His notable accomplishments include being a regional finalist at BdApps, winning the Robotic Olympiad, and presenting innovative solutions at the Hult Prize in the Philippines. Additionally, he earned the Golden Award at the 2nd International Competition for Young Researchers 2022 for his AI-based ERP software project, demonstrating his strong grasp of AI technologies.
Md Sabbir has contributed to key research initiatives, such as the Voluntar Project, where he developed a system to automate the recognition of 400 Bangla Sign Language words. His practical experience extends to IoT development and embedded systems, having worked as an IoT Developer at Neways3, where he designed and implemented solutions like Fingerprint Attendance Systems and Web-based AI Face Recognition Systems.
In his role as a Technical Support Engineer and later as a Robotics Instructor at Artificial Intelligence Bangladesh, Md Sabbir mentored students on projects such as Line Follower Robots, combining his technical expertise with hands-on mentoring. He has also served as the District Ambassador for Bayapon Science Magazine, promoting innovation and scientific literacy in his community.
This diverse experience in STEM education, combined with his technical expertise, underscores his ability to inspire and equip future innovators with practical, cutting-edge skills in robotics, programming, and AI.
