About David
Hello.
I am a freelance writer based in Celbridge with an BA in English from Maynooth University and and MA in Journalism from TU Dublin. I have also completed an 80 Hour TEO Course on teaching English, and Preply's How to Teach a Language course!
For the past ten years, I have been a professional writer and researcher , which has included written journalism, video scripts, fiction and plays. I am happy to help people with both verbal and written communications of all levels.
My lessons currently involve helping non native English speakers. However, if you are a native speaker and looking to develop your skills in school or in your professional life, feel free to contact me and I will see if I can help. Through my work as a volunteer with Fighting Words, I have been vetted by the National Youth Council of Ireland.

Most of my lessons have involved the following.
-Simulating everyday conversion - Here I will have a friendly conversation, correct you where necessary, and improve your vocabulary.
-Simulating job interviews/meeting - Here I will ask you questions and assess your business english and your speaking skills in a workplace enviroment.
-Taking your English to new levels - We will read through a news article and go through words you do not understand or need help.
-Adapting to Ireland - If you have just moved to Ireland, I can help you with how Irish pronunciation works, and the cultural apsects of living and working in Ireland.

Perfect! Excellent teacher, very good and helpful sessions!
Perfect! David is a great teacher. He is helping me with my pronunciation and my strong Spanish accent. David is very patient, has very good teaching techniques and provides handy tips. We work with interesting articles that help me learn new vocabulary and practise my pronunciation. After the lesson David sends me a list with the new topics we went over and also some recommendations of videos that can help to reinforce what I learned with him.
Perfect! I have been taking English lessons with David, and they have met my expectations, with classes tailored to my needs. David always brings great materials to the lessons, which is a big help. I truly recommend him.
