About Nonjabulo

My name is Nonjabulo Mthiyane and I'm currently schooling at the University of Johannesburg in the humanities. As one can recognise my course is about people and interacting with people. Interacting with others and helping them has always be one of day to day motto so that is what lead me into doing humanities.
In 2019 I was in a school called Inanda Seminary and they had a teaching programme called SMILE. In this programme, I had to go teach students in different schools English and IsiZulu to better their learning. So I would say I am passionate about teaching because no matter how tired I was at school, I would always have the energy to teach.

About the lesson

I'm fresh from university which means that I have knowledge of how learners would want to be taught. I try to always make the learning environment more about the learners creativity and not mine so that they would be comfortable in a space that they created. One thing I've realised with teaching is that one has to be flexible, if there are students who find difficulties in understanding the work given I can try and explain it in their language that way they don't feel left out. I work in a system of collaboration than competition. This works because it does not limit students in the classroom because of feeling like their peers understand better than them. knowing that I teach different children with different minds, I have to be able to be flexible to be able to help all of them and that's what i Intend to do in the classroom. Learning isn't only about being just a teacher of subjects but also just about having fun while doing it that way one cannot strain their mind with too much information they do not understand. I intend to make it more about the student having fun. Most importantly I don't judge, I also make mistakes so I would never judge.
