About Katie

I currently teach undergraduate, and master's level, with experience in teaching A-level. I love to teach and invest in my students' goals and education making learning fun and creating a safe and paced learning environment.

I like to use a mixture model of teaching approaches which suit my students best, making learning fun, and evenly paced with smaller milestones to help students find their own speed and reach their goals.

I hold a DBS certificate, as well as CPD qualifications in teaching those with ADHD and autism.

About the lesson

No one learns the same way, I take a student-led approach and get to know my students in our first initial session to go through, what are your goals, what do you want to achieve and what that milestone looks like, and how you find you learn best.

I am an experienced Environmental Science and Ecology educator with over 6 years of teaching experience and 8 years of research and tutoring experience. I specialise in supporting A-Level students to develop a strong understanding of environmental systems, ecological principles, and human impacts on the natural world.

My expertise covers the full A-Level Environmental Science curriculum, as well as undergraduate and masters level including:

- Ecosystems, habitats, and biodiversity
- Food webs and species interactions
- Atmospheric, water, and soil systems
- Agriculture and food security
- Renewable and non-renewable energy resources
- Pollution and environmental monitoring
- Sustainability and resource management
- Population growth and resource use

- Conservation biology and biodiversity protection

I tailor lessons to each student's needs, whether they are aiming to improve confidence, strengthen subject knowledge, prepare for exams, or achieve top grades. My background in both teaching and environmental research allows me to bring real-world examples and current environmental issues into lessons, making learning engaging, relevant, and effective.
