About Kimalaine
I started studying at the age of 34 to become a nursery nurse. This was a fulltime two year course. I was a mature student with four children to care for. I know how hard that can be!
I started my first position as aTA3 in a special school. I soon became trained in teaching children with autism. I lalso learned first aid in the work place. I trained in delivering personal care for disabled children. I went on to work in residential care for troubled teenagers. I did many training courses and became more and more experienced. I attended a level 3 leadership and management course and became the learning support manager. I also went on to teach for 6 years in a FE college teaching and assessing teaching assistance courses. My teaching comes from a place of experience and knowledge.

My approach to teaching is a very personal one. Students are all unique and need a unique approach. I am very experienced at teaching mature students and often mature students are returning to studying after sometimes a very long gap. I build confidence in my students and instill self belief in their abilities. I believe passionatly in the job of a teaching assistant within schools; I was a TA myself and also a learning support manager, managing a large team of TAs in a special school
