About Frankie
Many students are intimidated by Latin. They've been told that Latin is hard and for the super 'smart' kids. Well...I hope that you'll find that those comments aren't necessarily true. Latin can be very interesting and can improve your English skills as well as give you a boost going into the acquisition of another Romance (Rome-ance) language. More than 60% of English vocabulary has come to us directly from Latin. Even though English is considered a Germanic language, English is more closely aligned with the Romance languages.
With 15 years of experience in tutoring and teaching Latin to students in 6th-12th grades, I try to help give my students the tools needed to help them be successful in the acquisition of the Latin language. Even though I tutor the Latin language, it is virtually impossible for me to distance Latin from the classical world. So, be prepared to have discussions about the history and culture of the ancient world, beginning with the founding of Rome in 753 BC and continuing through the collapse of the Roman Empire. If you love gladiators, emperors, conquests, and empires, then you'll enjoy our discussions.
I look forward to helping you learn Latin, the language of the Romans!

Does Latin scare or intimidate you? Then I'm the tutor for you. Latin doesn't have to be difficult. As a matter of fact, you'll find out that English and Latin have a great deal in common. I promise that you'll be successful and that you'll fall in love with Latin along the way.
During lessons, we'll delve into the basics of grammar and vocabulary, working towards translating Latin into English and vice versa. Along the way, we'll learn a little bit about the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire.
I tutor students who are using a specific textbook in their classroom, as well as students who simply want to learn Latin on their own. I welcome students who are beginners, intermediate, or advanced.
Vale!
