About Andree
I started my career as a math and science teacher, and later I trained to become a special needs teacher, now holding a master's degree, a graduate degree in dyslexia and a graduate degree in educational assessment. This allowed me to develop a strong background in instructional strategies and differentiated instruction as well as strategies for overcoming barriers to learning. Keeping up to date with the research on learning, I always try to include the latest proven intervention techniques into my work. The integration of technology in everyday teaching has become an essential step towards supporting all children, but it is of particular benefit to dyslexic children.
I can honestly say that I am as passionate about teaching now, as I was when I first started teaching, in fact, perhaps more so now, because I have experienced for myself the true power we, as educators, hold to influence how children develop into fulfilled and successful members of society.

In supporting students with special needs, I use an individualized, data-driven methodology tailored to each learner’s needs. Learning strategies are shared and activities are scaffolded with the ultimate goal of helping students reach independence in their learning. Tutoring techniques include multisensory teaching, task breakdown, explicit modeling, repetition with reinforcement, visual supports, assistive technology, and frequent progress monitoring. Particular attention is given to addressing executive functioning difficulties which may impact learning.
