About Palesa

My name is Palesa Lizzy Machaba, and I am an Accounting enthusiast currently pursuing a Bachelor of Accounting degree. I haven’t always found Accounting easy, which is why I understand the challenges many students face. During my upgrading year, I pushed myself to grow by helping my peers who were struggling—not only with Accounting, but also with Mathematics and Physical Science.

After completing my upgrading year, I began tutoring Grade 12 learners in these subjects. My passion for tutoring developed from a genuine desire to support and uplift students who find these subjects difficult to understand. I always remind my students that it’s okay not to understand something at first—what truly matters is having the determination and willingness to improve and succeed.

About the lesson

Our approach to private tutoring is centered on personalization, clarity, building confidence and most importantly preparing candidates for examinations. I believe that every student learns differently, so we adapt our teaching style to suit each individual’s pace and goals. We focus on identifying gaps in understanding and turning them into strengths through targeted practice and clear explanation. We emphasize understanding over memorization, ensuring students can apply what they learn in different contexts. What sets us apart is our patience, ability to break down complex ideas into simple terms, and our commitment to creating a supportive, low-pressure learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

I am proficient in English and can teach fluently in this language.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by introducing or reinforcing key concepts. I incorporate interactive exercises, examples, and real-world applications to deepen understanding. Lessons are engaging and paced according to the student’s comfort level, with time set aside for questions and feedback. I also provide practice tasks or revision strategies to reinforce learning between sessions.

My lessons are specifically aimed at Grade 12 Accounting students preparing for their final exams. I help learners understand core concepts, improve accuracy, and develop strong exam techniques. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening their understanding, or aiming for high distinctions, I tailor lessons to meet their individual goals and align with the Grade 12 curriculum and exam standards.

Overall, my aim is not just to help students succeed academically, but to help them develop confidence, independence, and a solid understanding of Accounting.
