About Michael

I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a recovering NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) who, at 26, after forgetting almost everything I learned in high school Spanish class, decided to commit myself to become fluent. And one year and two semesters later, I was able to say I achieved that goal! And then one pandemic later, I lived in Mexico for a year, and then later Guatemala, and then later Mexico again which was a wonderful, enriching experience where I met so many incredible people, saw some beautiful sights, and, of course ate delicious food! In my free time, I love to cook, exercise, and play video games.

About the lesson

No matter your current level in Spanish, whether complete beginner, intermediate, or advanced, I will help you make strides in your progress through a flexible lesson plan designed with each level of language proficiency in mind (A1, A2, B1, etc . . .)

I will tailor the lesson plan to your needs! Have you never heard of Spanish in your life? I will explain everything. Are you an intermediate speaker struggling to understand advanced grammatical concepts such as the subjunctive, the reflexive pronoun 'se' or something else? So did I, and I will help you overcome those hurdles with easy-to-understand explanations and practice. Or are you already at an advanced level and just need someone to practice with and gently correct any mistakes? As a Spanish B.A. who knows the grammar inside-and-out, and additionally has lived in Mexico and Guatemala for nearly 2 years combined, and interacts with the Latino community in the San Francisco Bay Area on a daily basis, I'm your guy!
