About Samantha

Hi! I’m Samantha, a Year 12 student with a genuine passion for singing, music and helping others develop their own artistry. Throughout my musical journey, I’ve been lucky enough to learn from some wonderful singing teachers who have helped me grow not only as a vocalist, but also as a performer and musician. I continue to have regular private singing lessons myself to further develop my technique, confidence and artistic expression, and I want to bring that same passion for growth into my teaching. I want to help students discover their own unique voice, develop their musicality and artistry, and feel confident expressing themselves through music. For me, singing is about more than simply hitting the right notes — it’s about storytelling, expression, individuality and having the confidence to share your voice with others.

About the lesson

My lessons are supportive, encouraging and tailored to each student’s individual goals, experience and interests. I focus on building confidence alongside practical vocal skills such as breathing, posture, pitch, vocal technique, musicality, expression and performance skills. As someone who continues to have private singing lessons myself, I understand the challenges that come with learning to sing and aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and developing at their own pace. Lessons are typically 30–60 minutes and are suited to beginner and developing singers, particularly younger students. I am a Year 12 VCE Music Repertoire student and have completed AMEB Grade 5 in Classical Singing and Grade 5 in Comprehensive Piano. I have performed in various choirs and small ensembles, am currently learning to conduct my choir, and was awarded Dux of Music Repertoire. While I am new to formal vocal teaching, my experience as a student, performer and ongoing singing learner allows me to understand the student perspective and create lessons that are enjoyable, positive and confidence-building.
