About Apoorva

I'm a dancer based in Hyderabad, India with 25 years of classical training, starting in Kuchipudi and now learning Kathak. That training shapes everything about how I choreograph and how I teach.

I run my own dance platform where I create original semiclassical choreography set to film songs and teach it to students. I've done this through in-person workshops across Hyderabad and online sessions for people who can't make it in person. I take the class seriously. There's a plan for every session, not just winging it. But it's still meant to be fun. You're not signing up for a rigid technique class, you're signing up to learn choreography and enjoy the process.

If you've danced before or never danced a step in your life, that's fine. I break things down so you can actually keep up and retain what you learn.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on original semiclassical choreography that I create to Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil, and other film songs you already love and listen to. This is not the choreography from the movie or video, it's my own interpretation of the song. I break the choreography down into small, repeatable sections so you can actually retain it, not just follow along in the moment. Every class starts with a short warm up, then we work through steps in counts before putting them together to the full track.

I have 25 years of classical dance training, currently in Kathak, after years of Kuchipudi. That foundation shapes how I choreograph and how I teach expression and control, but the classes themselves are about fun, expressive dance to music you connect with. No prior dance experience is required. I teach absolute beginners and people who have danced before but want structured choreography instead of freestyle. Classes run live online, one on one or in small groups, so I can adjust pace to how you're picking things up.
