About Alex
My name is Alex Willmott, and music has been at the centre of my life since my teenage years. Like many musicians, I started out playing in bands, travelling the country with friends, writing music, performing live, and enjoying every moment of the journey.
In my twenties, I decided to pursue my passion professionally and enrolled at Bournemouth University, where I completed a degree in Music & Sound Production. During my studies, I gained extensive experience across all aspects of professional audio production, building the technical and creative foundations that would shape my career.
During my time at university and since graduating, I have worked across multiple sectors of the audio industry, beginning in live sound production before moving into commercial music production and, more recently, film audio. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of industry-standard workflows and the practical skills required to succeed in a variety of professional environments.
What drives me most is my passion for music, sound, and creative collaboration. I genuinely enjoy helping others develop their skills, overcome challenges, and gain confidence in their abilities. Teaching allows me to share the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my career while supporting the next generation of musicians, producers, and audio professionals.

Whether you're taking your first steps into music production or looking to refine your professional workflow, I offer personalised Logic Pro X lessons tailored to your goals, learning style, and experience level.
As a qualified audio professional with a degree in Music & Sound Production and current experience working in film audio, I bring real-world industry knowledge to every lesson. My background also includes live sound and commercial music production, allowing me to teach a wide range of production techniques used across different sectors of the audio industry.
My teaching approach focuses on practical, hands-on learning. Rather than simply explaining features, I guide students through real projects and industry-standard workflows, helping them build confidence and develop creative and technical skills simultaneously. Lessons are structured to ensure steady progress while remaining engaging and enjoyable.
Typical lesson length is 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged for students working on larger projects or advanced topics.
