About Estuardo De Jesus
I sit at the piano as a careful listener first. I notice where the music loses intention, where tension creeps in, and where uneven fingers blur the line—then I name those places specifically. If one explanation fails, I switch: an analogy, a slower silent rehearsal, a one-hand version, or a listening comparison so your ear leads the fix.
My manner is thoughtful and steady. I do not rush past confusion, and I do not drown you in theory you cannot use that day. You feel guided through a clear sequence: hear the goal, shrink the problem, solve it, return to the music. That sequence works for a child learning hand independence and for an adult returning after years away.
I care that you leave able to practice with your ears open. That means knowing what to isolate at home, how to use landmarks, and when to put hands back together. Lessons feel collaborative; mistakes are useful comparisons, not failures.
A session with me usually feels orderly and musically grounded. Expect fewer vague tips and more concrete listening experiments at the keyboard—then the satisfaction of hearing a stubborn passage finally hold.

Piano study with me starts with what the music should sound like, then works backward into the hands. If a passage works slowly but collapses when tempo rises, we listen for the exact bar where intention fades, separate the hands, and fix the weaker part before reuniting them. Beginners use this for simple melodies and basic chords; intermediate and advanced students use it for dense textures, leaps, or voicing that disappears under speed. You stop polishing the whole page while one measure is still guessing.
I often separate rhythm and pitch so your ear can stay in charge. You might tap the left-hand groove while singing the right-hand line, or play blocked chords in place of a busy accompaniment to hear the harmonic skeleton. Landmarkscadences, sequence starts, a bass note that anchors the phrase—replace blind memorizing from measure one. When memorization is the goal, we rebuild from those anchors outward so memory has a map, not a tightrope.
Difficult physical moves get compared, not forced. A jump can be practiced as leave–travel–arrive with silent landings before sound returns. A tangled fingering can be tried against an alternate so you learn what efficient motion feels and sounds like. Expression is layered on once the structure is secure enough to shape—dynamics and phrasing chosen on purpose, not hoped for.
Real pieces stay in view. Exercises earn their keep by fixing something in the music you brought, from first method-book songs to polished repertoire. Children get short targets and vivid imagery for hand shape; teens and adults get sharper language about structure and listening. Practice plans emphasize quality loops over empty repetition.
