About Susie

I am a Kerry native living in the big city of London. I moved in 2022 with nothing but a fiddle where I quickly became immersed in the rich Irish music scene of London where I now gig weekly. I began learning the fiddle almost 20 years ago and my musical journey has taken me many places through various competitions like the Fleadh Cheoil and music festivals such as Willie Clancy. I began teaching with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éirinn 10 years ago when I first developed my grá for teaching. I then went on to teaching primary schools before becoming a primary school teacher. I would love to get an opportunity to share my love for music and fiddle playing with you!

About the lesson

Join me for Irish fiddle lessons in a friendly and welcoming environment, where we will explore the rich tradition of Irish music. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, my lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. Choose between 30 or 60-minute sessions, and we’ll dive into the fundamentals of fiddle playing, develop your technique, and explore ornamentation to add depth and character to your music. Together, we’ll also build a repertoire of tunes, exploring their origins and the stories behind them. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’m committed to helping you grow as a musician at your own pace, whether you want to focus on traditional pieces or put your own spin on the tunes you love. I can also signpost you to many open sessions around your area to help you grow in confidence as a musician.
