About Taylon

I love to teach, and I love playing music! With a background in elementary education and years of live performance—including with the American Rhythm Folk Ensemble and my family band, Hudson Blue—I understand how to connect with students and guide them toward real progress. My approach is structured yet flexible, designed to meet each student where they are and help them grow with confidence. Whether you're learning for fun or aiming to master your favorite songs, you can count on a supportive, knowledgeable, and reliable learning experience.

About the lesson

Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level, I offer a well-rounded, intuitive approach that makes learning fun and rewarding. My goal is to help you play the songs you love with confidence—whether by ear or by TAB.

I’ve performed in a wide variety of local and international venues with the American Rhythm Folk Ensemble and my family band, Hudson Blue. As a licensed elementary educator with nearly four years of classroom teaching experience, I know how to make complex concepts feel simple, engaging, and accessible to all learners.

My Teaching Method:
I focus on chord theory and playing by ear to help you understand how music works from the inside out. I also teach you how to read tabs and chord charts, giving you all the tools you need to learn any song and play for fun—solo or with others.

What a Typical Lesson Looks Like:
Warm-up: A review of previous material
Core Skill Focus: Chord progressions, ear training, or rhythm work
Application: Learning a song or improvising using new skills
Wrap-up: Practice tips and a preview of what’s next

I teach beginners to intermediate players of all ages, whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to expand your musical intuition. Lessons are available in person at my home in Lehi, UT, or online via video call.
