  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Though I teach a variety of subjects like science, Maths, MS software like MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, but my main subject is programming. I have been coding since I was 16. At first, I used to hate it because I didn't have a mentor that could introduce me to programming in an easy-to-understand manner. I struggled for almost a year as it was one of my main subjects in school and I couldn't afford to fail. I tried and somehow I was able to get a hang of it. Later when I tried digging deeper (not just for passing exams but for learning and making something new), I discovered that I started to like it. I liked to create things while coding and that's where my interest developed and I decided to pursue it as my career.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

I always struggled with programming and wanted to mentor who could easily break down complex topics into easy-to-understand explanations. As I am a self-taught developer, I do not want anyone else to struggle as I did. That's when I decided to teach about things I am passionate about. It is also my biggest motivation.
  • How does your work help society?

I don't want money to be a barrier for someone who is willing to learn. I remember giving tuitions to students who were not that financially stable, for free, that too offline. I do charge some minimal fees for my classes but that's just for my efforts. But if someone is not able to pay that much, I gladly waive some or all of it for them. I know it is not that much, but I just want to do whatever I can at my level to make a change in society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

It would be my parents because they have always taught me to help the needy and work towards my goal passionately. They are the reason, whatever I am today. I owe it all to them.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I like to read good books that can really help me think out of the box. I also like to play some badminton.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

So I was in my pre-final year of school back in 2018, and C++ was one of my main subjects. I remember I took it so lightly that I will do it so and so (even though I had zero knowledge in it at that time) and by the time I had my exams coming next week I was doomed. I couldn't even understand a simple 'Hello World!' program and used to cry about the fact that how I'm gonna pass school with my C++ being like this. I tried a few times to understand the syntax and all but failed continuously. Even though I managed to clear my final C++ exam somehow, but I was still under-confident. I remember practicing sincerely after that and somehow I was able to have some confidence in programming. So what I wanna tell every programming newbie out there is that DON'T GIVE UP. I won't say programming is easy, but it's not impossible too if you really wanna learn it. If I can do it, then you can do it too. JUST KEEP PRACTISING and BUILDING INTERESTING STUFFS.
