About Robin

I've been tutoring French for over 5 years now, working with all levels and ages, from complete beginners to advanced adults preparing for exams or professional goals. I've also completed internships in French high schools, so I understand how French is actually taught and assessed, not just how to speak it. On top of that, I've worked in law firms and in a parliament setting, both in the US and in France, which gives me a strong grasp of professional and legal French if that's ever relevant to your goals. I competed in eloquence and public speaking contests growing up, which shaped how I teach conversation and confidence, not just grammar.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm a French American tutor. Born in Boston, raised in Paris, currently doing a Master's in Law at Sciences Po Paris (previously studied there and at George Washington University in DC).

I've been teaching French online for a while now. Lessons are tailored to whatever you're working towards, whether that's exams, work, travel, or just finally feeling comfortable speaking.

A few things I can help with:

* Exam prep. Bac Français, DELF/DALF, or general school and university exams. I got 19/20 in my own French oral and passed the Bac with Très Bien, so I know what examiners are looking for.

* Conversation practice. Building vocabulary and fluency so you're not just translating in your head.

* Interview and speech prep. Pronunciation, structure, delivery, the works.

* Writing and grammar. Understanding why you're making the mistakes you're making, not just correcting them.

* Real, everyday French. The way people actually talk, not just textbook phrases.

Because I grew up switching between French and English, I can usually explain the tricky bits in whichever language makes more sense for you. I also debated competitively for years, which comes in handy when the goal is helping you sound confident, not just correct.

All lessons are over video call, so location doesn't matter. Just send me a message with your level, what you're aiming for, and your availability, and we'll go from there.
