About Channing
I am a lifelong Alaskan and I love getting out into nature to see what I can find. I live in the south-central area, but am open to helping anyone from around the world learn to forage what grows in their area. I am a botany and anthropology student at the University of Alaska and have experience both outdoors and in writing scientifically about ethnobotany.

I love foraging and believe that fresh, native flora and fungi should be accessible to all. I live in Alaska where foraging is part of life, so I am happy to teach you what to look for. My lessons will be in the field for those in my area or online for those who need help getting started and understanding ethical, reciprocal harvesting methods. Each session will begin with a conversation about the science, human uses of the botanical, and materials required.
