About Milena
My name is Milena, I'm a professional flutist and singer. I'm classically and jazz trained. I have BA in classical flute pedagogics from Kärtner Landeskonservatorium in Austria and MA in jazz studies/voice from City University of New York/Queens College.
In both programs, I also had a lot of piano lessons as a second instrument.
The main focus of my bachelor studies was on the pedagogical aspect, so I had a lot of one-on-one lessons with students in front of my teacher's supervision. Part of my final exam grade was teaching in front of 5 accomplished professors.
I was very fortunate to study with many amazing teachers all around the globe, which gave me a lot of time to combine their methods and find my own way to pass that knowledge on.
I've been teaching flute, voice and beginners piano for about 6 years.
The most important thing I've learned as a teacher is that you cannot apply the same system to every student. First I get to know each students personality, so I can motivate them accordingly.
