About Fabian

I'm Fabian, and I grew up loving guitar and all things musical. I have two degrees in music, and I have taught a great deal over the years. To me, teaching is more than just training another person to do something - it's helping to nurture a passion for something, to develop a sense of identity through a skill, and building a connection to art. I'm grateful I was afforded that privilege, and I want to share it with my students. Learning an instrument is proven to help the brain grow in all ways - motor skills, emotional skills, reasoning skills, and problem solving!

I am a qualified teacher, and have a PGCE in Music Education. I also have an extended DBS Certificate.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Fabian! I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and have taught many people to play in an intuitive and tailor-made approach. I teach adults and children alike, and have brought students from complete beginners to shredding on stage with their band. I have a Bachelor's degree in Popular Music, and a Master's degree in Applied Musicology. I am also a qualified teacher, have a PGCE in Music Education, and have an extended DBS Certificate. I always start with an introductory lesson to get to know each other, so I can gauge your playing level, and if my teaching style is effective for you. I want to learn your favourite songs, or what you really want to be able to play, so we can get stuck in on exercises that are rewarding and engaging. I always try to teach technique and theory in real applicable context, so don't expect to be doing endless scales and exercise drills - we're going to learn your favourite tracks! My introductory lesson is usually 1 hour long, and I recommend a full-length lesson to be 2 hours, which can be adjusted to your needs. These lessons are for everyone - adults and children alike.
