About Ramani
I am Subramanya Venkata Ramani Varahabhatla, a professionally trained Carnatic vocalist with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Carnatic Music (Vocal) from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. I am an All India Radio (AIR) certified Yuvavani Grade Artist, and I have performed in prestigious cultural venues including Raj Bhavan, Bhadrachalam Temple, and Doordarshan. With over 5 years of experience in both offline and online teaching, I have successfully trained students across India, the USA, UK, and Australia. As a former music teacher at Army Public School, Bolarum, I bring both structure and creativity to my teaching, with an emphasis on technique, theory, and emotional expression. I am committed to nurturing musical talent with care, clarity, and professionalism. My Teaching Approach – Subramanya Venkata Ramani Varahabhatla: As a passionate Carnatic music tutor with a Master's degree in Vocal from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University and a Yuvavani Grade Artist recognition from All India Radio, I bring both academic depth and performing experience into every lesson I teach. My Teaching Method and Techniques: 1. I follow a structured yet flexible approach tailored to each student's pace and learning goals. I focus on: 2. Building a strong foundation in Shruti, Laya, and Swara alignment. 3. Introducing Varnams and Keerthanams gradually with focus on voice culture and pronunciation. 4. Teaching Manodharma (improvisation) at intermediate and advanced levels including alapana, neraval, and swarakalpana. 5. Integrating theory and history of ragas and composers to make learning holistic. I also prepare students for: 1. Music exams (certificate/diploma) 2. Online/offline competitions 3. Stage performances A Typical Lesson Plan Includes: Warm-up with basic swara patterns and voice exercises 1. Revision of previous lesson with feedback 2. Introduction to new topic/composition with meaning and notations 3. Practical singing with Shruti box/tanpura 4. Theory discussion (raga structure, tala, composer background) 5.
