About Rasadnya

Namaste,

I am Rasadnya Joshi, an Alankar (Postgraduate) in Bharatanatyam, dedicated performer, teacher, and lifelong student of Indian classical arts.

My journey in Bharatanatyam has led me beyond technique into the deeper study of movement, expression, and traditional knowledge systems. Along with my postgraduate training in Bharatanatyam, I have studied Natyashastra, including Karanas and Charis, and have completed teacher training in Yoga, which enriches my understanding of body alignment, strength, flexibility, and mindful movement.

I am also pursuing Visharad in Hindustani Classical Music, allowing me to bring a deeper appreciation of rhythm, melody, and artistic expression into my teaching.

For the past five to six years, I have been teaching students of different ages and backgrounds through both online and offline classes. I have extensive experience conducting online lessons and currently teach students from different parts of the world. My classes are designed to be structured, encouraging, and accessible, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced dancer seeking to refine your practice.

I believe Bharatanatyam is not only a dance form but also a path of discipline, creativity, storytelling, and self-discovery. My goal is to help students build strong technical foundations while developing confidence, artistry, and a genuine connection with this beautiful tradition.

Classes are available in English, Hindi, and Marathi.

I look forward to sharing the joy and depth of Bharatanatyam with you.

About the lesson

In these Bharatanatyam classes, students will learn:

• Adavus (fundamental steps)
• Posture, balance, and body alignment
• Rhythm and tala understanding
• Abhinaya (facial expressions and storytelling)
• Classical repertoire and choreography
• Dance theory and cultural understanding

Classes are tailored according to the student's level and goals. Beginners will build a strong foundation, while advanced students can focus on performance, expression, and choreography.

The first session includes an assessment of the student's experience and learning objectives so that lessons can be personalized effectively.
