About Kell
I think it is important that I am able to take my personal experiences and use them to help others. The process of completing the IB Diploma is an extremely difficult learning curve for many, and the transition to university can be difficult. What I learned, however, was that the value of outside help, especially from those who have experienced the IB should never be understated. The IB exams although daunting can be overcome with the help of some simple tips. Although examiners are undoubtedly subjective to a certain degree, there are always methods that can be used to win them over consistently. Coming from the competitive academic culture of Hong Kong has taught me these important lessons and hopefully, I will be able to make the journey through IB at least a little easier.

As someone who has studied the IB, I can understand how difficult and demanding the programme is. The subjects I chose during my studies, as well as my current university degree, have made me an excellent writer as well as an excellent researcher and hopefully, the skills I have accrued through my own experiences can be transferred to my students. I have previously taught human rights in Brampton Manor, Langdon Academy, and Eastbrook School, acted as a teaching assistant for a summer school sponsored by the Sutton Trust, and am currently managing the Grassroots Human Rights Programme aimed to teach students human rights law and acting as the Mooting coach for UCL Law Society. As a teacher, I am quite to the point and am a results-oriented person. At its core, my lessons will be aiming to teach students various tips to ensure that they are fully prepared for the IB exams and can obtain the highest scores. I am also an understanding and sympathetic person, and I am aware of the various stresses that students may be experiencing having done the IB myself. When evaluating students' work I am critical but fair, and will always aim to make sessions as productive as possible. I aim to do 1-hour sessions where the student and I will go through a past paper providing step-by-step guidance on how to approach it during the exam and how to manage time. By the end, students should write an answer to the paper which I will mark in my own time and go through with them quickly in the following lesson. I will provide the student with all the resources they will need.
