About Etienne
I am a language specialist/teacher, editor and translator and materials developer.
I see myself as an excellent teacher, trainer/tutor and love teaching and have a passion for children.
I am a warm, accessible, enthusiastic educator.
I am also a passionate, caring and innovative educator.
I am an adaptable, engaging, empathetic teacher with a lot of patience.
I have good listening skills.
Avid reader.
Area of interest is to develop new educational materials.
Great organizer and team player with my focus is on collaboration.
Have exemplary written and oral skills in English.
I am a strong believer in Social Justice and a belief all children can grow and learn.
Take time out in a busy schedule to assist/help/listen and to address whatever needs.
In having said all of the above I need to add that I am a semi-retired person with a lot of energy and would dearly like to share my years of teaching and developing educational materials with learners that wish to learn and acquire a new language such as English.

My teaching style can best be described as interactive, supportive and transparent.
I encourage my students to have a voice in the classroom, ask questions as they come up and participate actively in all conversations regardless of their level of confidence.
I also make use of a mix of each of the following three teaching styles when teaching. They are:
1. The directing style that promotes learning through listening and following directions.
2. The discussing style that promotes learning through interaction.
3. The delegation style that promotes learning through empowerment.
4. I also make use of TPR and realia in presenting my lessons.
