About Max

I’m Matt, a trader at a large multi-Strat hedge fund. Previously traded at a global investment bank. A Mathematics and Computer Science graduate, I had converted my front-office summer internship into a full-time offer and have since rotated across both Fixed Income and Equities trading desks. I’ve been a Summer Intern Manager and have also been directly involved in the recruitment and selection process for internships and graduate programmes during my Analyst and Associate years. This experience has given me first-hand understanding of what hiring managers and HR teams genuinely look for during applications and interviews. Without disclosing any confidential or sensitive information, I’ll help you navigate the recruitment process with an insider’s perspective. To date, I’ve helped over 20 students secure internships and full-time roles, many of whom have successfully converted their internships into front-office offers in Global Markets (Sales, Trading, Structuring, or Quantitative roles).

About the lesson

My coaching focuses on practical, actionable advice to help you break into front-office Sales & Trading roles. Unlike generic career advice, my coaching comes with first-hand knowledge from someone who is in the seat today and has successfully navigated the full recruitment cycle from applications to internship and full-time conversion. You won’t just hear recycled tips; you’ll get practical strategies, unfiltered insights, and real examples of what actually works, what managers and HR truly look for, and how to stand out in a crowded applicant pool. Session Approach & Methodology I offer two formats to suit your needs: Structured Long-Term Coaching — ideal if you are starting early and want steady preparation across months. Accelerated Boot-Camp — intensive support during peak recruitment periods. Sessions are designed to be interactive, with real-world examples, practical exercises, and insider tips. Each session is customised to your profile and career goals. Typical Lesson Length Lessons are typically 60 minutes, depending on the topic and depth of coverage. Longer workshops are available for mock assessments or application sprints. Topics Covered Include: Formal CV Reviews — industry-tested formatting and content strategies Interview Preparation — phone, video, and in-person interview mastery Case Study Walkthroughs — hands-on approach to market-based exercises Networking Strategies — practical techniques to expand and leverage your network Day-to-Day Insights — what the job really looks like in sales, trading, structuring, and quant roles HR & Managerial Expectations — understanding what decision-makers care about Who the Lessons Are For I coach university students, recent graduates, and career switchers targeting internships and graduate programmes in Sales & Trading, Structuring, or Quant roles.
