About Amber
I only started teaching a few years ago almost by accident after a friend asked me to help her nervous kid who hated their previous strict guitar teacher. That experience showed me how many people quietly give up on guitar simply because early lessons felt scary or overly serious for a hobby that is supposed to be genuinely fun. I never had fancy formal training myself, just years of playing purely for fun around a campfire, which honestly shapes how relaxed my whole studio feels these days. I deliberately keep things loose and low pressure because I remember exactly how intimidating strict teachers felt when I was younger and trying to figure out the instrument on my own. My students range from shy little kids to grown adults finally working up the nerve to try something new, and I love that mix. Three years in and ninety-five students later, my favorite part is still just watching someone relax enough to actually enjoy playing.

Honestly, my guitar lessons are pretty relaxed; there is no pressure here and definitely no judgment if a chord comes out buzzy or clumsy at first. We usually start by chatting about what a student actually wants to play because forcing someone through boring exercises they hate never really works in my experience. I keep technical stuff short and light on purpose; sometimes we just mess around learning a simple riff by ear before easing into anything more structured. If something feels hard one week, we just come back to it later; there is no strict checklist or timeline a student has to rush through here. I try to keep things fun and a little silly during lessons because I genuinely think a relaxed, happy student learns faster than a stressed, perfectionist one ever does. Mistakes are honestly expected and totally fine; we just laugh it off and try again without making a big deal out of it. My whole goal is for every student, new or nervous, to leave feeling lighter and happier about guitar than when they walked in the door.
