About Moses
I tutor New Testament Greek for seminary and Bible college students, with a focus on the places the standard curriculum tends to lose people: the verb system, participles, and the jump from parsing isolated forms to reading actual text.
Most students I work with are not bad at Greek. They fell behind during one specific unit, usually deponent verbs, the aorist or the participle, and every chapter after that felt like it was built on sand. My first job is to find that gap and fix it, not to re-teach the whole semester.
I hold a B.A in Theology from Texas Lutheran University, with 10 years of Greek studies under Dr. Norm Beck. I work in Mounce / Croy / Black / Decker / Machen-McCartney, whatever you use.
I'm comfortable in any of the standard first-year grammars, and I can work directly out of your syllabus and your professor's exams.

What I help with:
-First and second-year Greek coursework, quizzes, and exams
-Verb morphology: principal parts, tense-aspect, contract verbs, second aorist, the middle voice
-Participles, infinitives, and subordinate clause structure
-Translation and sight reading
-Exegesis papers, including diagramming, syntactical analysis, and using BDAG and the standard lexica properly
-Comprehensive and ordination exam prep
-Getting Greek back after years away
I also teach broader biblical studies and theology, such as hermeneutics, New Testament introduction, Synoptic problem, Pauline literature, Old Testament Studies, and historical theology.
How I run a session: you bring the passage or the assignment you're actually stuck on. We work through it together with you doing the translating and me asking the questions, because the goal is that you can do it alone on the exam. I explain the grammar in terms of what the language is doing and not just labels to memorize.
First session: book a 45-minute diagnostic. We look at your recent work, identify the specific gap, and I'll tell you honestly how many hours it will take to close it before we commit to a package.
