About Peter

From an early age, I have enjoyed making music, whether on my instrument or in some other way. I have successfully completed extensive artistic training at the special school "Musikgymnasium C.-P.-E.-Bach" in Berlin. On the recorder, I was also able to achieve a number of successes in various competitions, and was able to attend master classes with renowned personalities such as Maurice Steger.
I am currently a student at the University of Music Karlsruhe in the subject of recorder (and pedagogy).

About the lesson

I love working with children, but I am just as happy about adults interested. Whether completely new to the instrument or a bit advanced - my lessons are always individually oriented towards the needs, possibilities and wishes of the students. With beginners, of course, we first carefully learn the fingerings (or, if necessary, reading notes first), basic articulations, and playing simple and beautiful songs, dance music or musical games. Sometimes we improvise a little - that's fun! We either use different nice recorder schools or we organize the lessons in an intuitive, creative way. Advanced players then, if they want, get to know other recorder sizes (alto, tenor, etc.). They are supported in the process of refining their technique, and gradually get an insight into the repertoire of early or modern music. Of course, as always, we also take into account the students' own preferences. As a teacher, of course, I have my personal ideas and approaches for each lesson. Nevertheless, the general teaching atmosphere is very relaxed and gives the students lots of space for sharing their own inspirations.

Perfect! My nine year-old daughter has had 2x per week lessons with Peter for the last three months. He has an amazingly positive approach to working with small kids. He's very encouraging, yet he still challenges her. I'm really amazed at the progress they've made together. I would highly recommend Peter as a music teacher. He's very professional and he puts a lot of thought and care in preparing his lessons, as well as in following up.

Die Schülerin ist musikalisch sehr interessiert und motiviert. Sie kann nach ca. 1 Monat schon 5 verschiedene Töne spielen und hat den starken Willen, schnell weiter voranzukommen. Sie setzt meine Anweisungen meist problemlos um. Weiter so!
