Hi! I’m Katie and I’m a trumpet teacher based in West London. In 2023 I graduated with a first class degree from the Royal College of Music. I will graduate as a master of performance in July 2025. I

About Katie
Katie has many years of experience teaching children one to one ages 5-18. As well as this, Katie is trumpet tutor for three music services in London and visits primary and secondary schools, holding workshops and leading ensembles.
A very mouldable person, and diligent professional musician, she thrives around people of all backgrounds. Having been introduced to music through her local music service in Manchester, she understands and appreciates the great care and dedication that teaching demands.
Katie grew up playing with local brass bands and youth ensembles before winning a place at Chethams School of Music and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain when she was 15. After having lived in London for 6 years, she has worked with many prestigious orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC philharmonic, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera house and is currently on trial for a job with the Orchestra of the English National Ballet.

Lesson one is for us to get to know each other! I would see what level you are at, whether it be beginner or intermediate. I teach in a way that combines learning the technical aspect of the instrument with musicianship skills such as reading music and aural. As everyone learns in a different way, I can adapt my approach to best suit your needs in a fun and creative way!
