About Sofia
I've learnt dance since age three, journeying through Classical Ballet, contemporary dance and corporal expression. Found my passion in Asian Classical Dances at age 15. Graduated with a technical degree in Oriental Dances at age 19 where I learnt Indonesian, Indian and Arabic forms. Had plenty of stage experiences throughout my career at my country, Argentina. Studied javanese classical dances and other styles at ISI Surakarta with Dharmasiswa Scholarship. Met with Bharatanatyam only four years ago when started in Kalakshetra and fell completely in love with the art form, as of I've been dancing it my whole life. Currently I continue my studies under my teacher and with her guidance I'm very eager to spread and nurture this wonderful Indian legacy that is Bharatanatyam.

Patience and flexibility, combined with a broad understanding of the way different bodies might work plus the proper knowledge of technique and theory that characterizes Kalakshetra alumni. I value the responsibility that a teacher undertakes when they face their student, and out of respect and admiration for my own teacher I follow the same standards. I see dance as a holistic approach to the self, hence the need to comprehend and try to master every aspect at our reach. I can teach in english and spanish. Body exercises, notes, corrections and experimental tasks will be given.
