About Sophia
As a current college student, I am aware of the current demands of academic writing and literary analysis. I have written two novels and am in the process of publishing. Additionally, I have done copy editing work for 5 years now.
I received scores of 5 on both my AP English Literature and Language exams in 2020 and 2021, and have a comprehensive understanding of AP testing strategy. My academic papers throughout high school and college have received high praise.
I am well versed in all standard middle and high school reading material, and willing to assist with any text you need.
My focus in college has been on the Modernist literature movement and Medieval English literature. I have also studied Classic Literature, Literature of the Harlem Renaissance, Russian Romantic and Medieval Literature, Post-Modern American Literature, and Contemporary Literature of the Indian Ocean region. Beyond this, my strategies for literary analysis are applicable to any genre of text.

An essay session with me would include outlining an essay, developing a thesis with you, assistance with writing an essay, and editing an essay. This is helpful for assigned essays and college application essays.
A literary analysis session with me would involve reading and discussing a text, as well as developing personalized strategies for analyzing literature independently.
An AP exam prep session would include my AP exam essay outline, which simplifies the often intimidating essay portion of AP English exams by dividing it into smaller, short answer sections that can easily be stitched together.
A session for Creative Writing with me is a collaborative period where we can discuss style, content, and purpose.
My schedule is flexible and all of my tutoring is remote. The length of a session determines how in depth we can go for each step of the process.
