About Lily
With 8 years of teaching experience and nearly 150 students guided successfully, I specialise in flute instruction for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners.
My lessons are structured and progressive. I focus on strengthening breath support, tone clarity, articulation, finger speed, and rhythm accuracy. Along with technical training, I encourage musical expression and dynamic control to help students play with feeling and confidence.
I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style according to their needs. Some require detailed explanation, while others learn better through demonstration and repetition.
My unique skill lies in simplifying difficult techniques into easy steps that students can practise comfortably. I also emphasise discipline and regular practice habits.
I am passionate about helping students unlock their potential and build long-term confidence in flute performance.

My flute teaching methodology focuses on strong concept clarity, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I believe that students learn best when they clearly understand how and why techniques work. Therefore, I adapt my lessons according to each student’s learning style and pace.
I begin by building a solid foundation in posture, breath support, embouchure formation, and tone control. Once the basics are secure, I introduce finger exercises, scale practice, articulation drills, and rhythm accuracy training. I explain each concept in simple steps and provide practical demonstrations to make learning easier.
Alongside flute performance, I teach music theory, notation reading, tempo understanding, and ear training. This ensures students develop both technical skill and musical intelligence. Flexibility allows me to modify lessons depending on whether the student is preparing for exams, performances, or learning for personal interest.
Collaboration is encouraged through open discussions about goals and musical preferences. I maintain a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions and improve. My aim is to guide students towards steady progress and confident flute performance.
