About Julia
I have a master degree in journalism obtained in France. Here in the UK, I still write for French-speaking media... So that my French, either at speaking or writing, should be rather quite good.
Although I like my job - as a journalist - very much, I've always felt curious about teaching (both of my parents used to be teachers in primary and secundary schools in France and it's a job I truly value... I also believe there are some similarities between this job and being a journalist as, in both cases, you try to transmit information /knowledge to people, while adapting to your audience...). So here I am, giving it a try, persuaded that my communication and pedagogical skills - that I partly developed through my work in the media - would be of help.
Additionally, the fact that I've also had, personally, to work - and still working - on my English when I arrived to the UK gives me, I believe, a good understanding of how demanding it can be to learn a new language, how patient you need to be... but it also gave me some 'tricks', things that I remember helped me and are still helping, with English and that I want to use to help potential students x

As a French national living in an English-speaking country, I know very well how demanding it can be to learn a language. I also know what can motivate you - or at least what has motivated me with English - in doing so. Of course, grammar is important but to me, the key is really about enjoying the session, as much as you can of course... talking about topics that passionate you while slowly starting to sound more and more French.
As a journalist, I could obviously suggest a wide range of subjects we could discuss and potentially providing you with a deeper knowledge of France and the French culture (if that's also something you're interested in), while naturally working on your grammar and the structure of your sentences.
Maybe more for people who already have an intermediate level of French... but I could also adapt to total beginners. It will really depend on your needs, which we can discuss in a first free lesson. My lessons last 1 hour.
