About Beth

My guitar teaching methodology is built around student-led exploration and personal goal-setting, allowing each learner to take ownership of their musical journey. I believe every guitarist has a unique sound waiting to be discovered, and my role is to help you uncover it. Lessons are interactive and flexible, blending structure with creative freedom.

We focus on jam session techniques that build your confidence and teach you how to flow naturally with other musicians. Melodic phrasing is another key area, helping you express emotion through each note rather than just playing scales. You’ll also learn scale-matching strategies to unlock improvisation and play more intuitively across different keys. Rhythmic groove development keeps your playing grounded and dynamic, turning practice into performance-level energy.

I love working with learners who value self-direction, creativity, and deep emotional connection to music. Together, we’ll build not just skills, but confidence and artistry. Let’s make your guitar playing as expressive and individual as you are.

About the lesson

I’m a passionate guitar tutor with 5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Guitar Emphasis. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach that unites the mind, body, and ear. I believe that great guitar playing begins with awareness and connection—both to the instrument and to yourself. To support that, I integrate movement practices such as the Alexander Technique and mindful breathing to release tension and enhance natural coordination. These tools help students find comfort, freedom, and flow in their playing.

I also use visual learning techniques like diagrams and fretboard maps to make theory and fingerboard navigation intuitive and clear. Through auditory playbacks, I guide students to listen deeply and internalise rhythm, tone, and phrasing. Together, we develop a strong technical foundation while keeping creativity and expression at the centre of every lesson.

Performance anxiety is something many musicians face, and I help my students manage it with calm awareness, confidence-building, and steady preparation. My goal is to create a supportive space where music feels both exciting and safe to explore. Let’s grow together—musically, creatively, and mindfully—and make every note an authentic expression of who you are.
