About Jess
I am an actor-musician with a double first class degree in Japanese from the University of Cambridge and a Distinction in my Masters degree in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music. I hold an LRAM teaching qualification and have passed the highest level of the Japanese Proficiency Test (N1).
I offer tutoring for anyone wanting to learn Japanese, although I specialise in supporting degree-level learners. I also teach singing lessons, concentrating on Musical Theatre and training singers and actors in the skill of Acting through Song. I offer regular lessons and intensive Drama school / audition prep sessions.
I also give workshops on Drama, Self Confidence and English Language Through Drama. I can provide one on one Self Confidence tutoring, based on my experiences as a workshop leader and through my RAM specialised study of physicality and its links to confidence.
I have over 12 years' experience working with children, and 4 years' experience as a private tutor. During that time I have taught over 30 pupils in subjects ranging from English as a Foreign Language, English Conversation, Japanese 1st, 3rd and 4th year degree, Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Oxbridge Entry, Interview Skills, Self Confidence Training, LAMDA Speech and Drama, English through Drama and Acting through Song.
