About Ben
I grew up in County Clare, and studied Japanese, French and International Relations at the University of Limerick. It is there that I fell in love with learning Japanese, and I spent one semester at the Centre for Japanese Language and Education in Waseda University in Tokyo in 2023.
I am the first Irish student to study a Master's program at Waseda University, and the first student from the University of Limerick to receive the MEXT (Ministry of Education) scholarship from the Japanese government.

I currently teach English part-time during my Masters programme in Japan, and am part of several clubs in my university for language exchange and learning Japanese.
I am open to teaching anyone! I began learning Japanese in 2021, and I am all too familiar with feeling like the language is impossible at times.
I am very interested in speaking and interactive learning methods, and I aim to help students enjoy learning Japanese as much as possible.
