Dr James has five years experience of working with international students. He is an excellent teacher.

I have known James for years, and can say that he is a trustworthy, passionate, knowledgeable and highly experienced academic. He has various journal publications and recently published his first book. Choosing James as your tutor would be a safe and assured decision.

James's been a colleague and friend knowing him for several years now. He's proven his ability to show leadership under stress whilst displaying patience with a calm demeanour whilst working with him in the theatre industry in the past.

He's impeccably (annoyingly!) polite, friendly and passionate about his subjects of interest including history and the arts, which also can be useful at the ocassional pub quiz! He's good at passing down knowledge that to someone like a lay person myself can be fascinated about with new subjects and interests.

James is thorough, always well prepared and is always encouraging careful readings of texts whilst leaving room for new interpretations to be explored. Couldn’t recommend him more!
