About Alexis

About Me: The Method Behind the Mentor

I’m a multi-disciplined coach who believes the best way to fix the mind is to move the body, chase the light, or catch a wave. My background is built on high-pressure environments, technical discipline, and a deep appreciation for the mechanics of flow—whether that’s on a surfboard, a guitar fretboard, or in the gym.

I don't teach from a pedestal, and I don't do textbook theory. I teach from the trenches.

Why I Teach (And Why It Keeps Me Sharp)
Let’s be entirely straight: I am a lifelong warrior in the trenches of addiction. Half the time, I am fighting just as hard a battle as anyone else to keep my own system in check and maintain my alignment.

I’m not looking for a pity party, and I’m certainly not your average academic. I’m someone who has engineered practical, real-world tools to stay grounded, and teaching is a massive part of that architecture. When we work together on your goals—whether we are purging stress under a barbell, reading the ocean, or unlocking a complex fingerpicking pattern—it’s a two-way street. By helping you find your momentum and build resilience, you are helping me maintain mine.

If you want a sterile, by-the-book instructor, I’m probably not your guy. But if you want someone who understands the exact mechanics of frustration, habit-breaking, and grit—and knows how to channel that into a cathartic, physical release—let’s get to work. We’ll keep each other sharp

About Me: The Method Behind the Mentor

I am a lifestyle coach built on a foundation of high-pressure environments, technical precision, and a deep understanding of human performance. I operate on a simple principle: the most effective way to restore the mind is to engage the body—whether that means finding alignment under a heavy barbell, reading a surf break, or mastering a complex fretboard pattern.

I don't teach from an insulated academic pedestal. I mentor from experience.

Why I Teach (The Architecture of Accountability)

To be entirely transparent: I am a qualified psychotherapist with a formal diploma, but my foundational education came from being thoroughly processed and rinsed by a system that once labeled me institutionalized. I have studied the literature, but I have also lived the pages. As a lifelong veteran of the trenches of addiction, I am intimately familiar with the daily discipline it takes to maintain personal alignment; half the time, I am fighting just as hard as my clients to keep my own system in check.

This isn't a bid for sympathy, nor am I interested in lecturing you. It is a statement of reality. I have synthesized clinical principles with raw, first-hand survival to engineer practical, high-impact strategies for real-world resilience.

For me, teaching is a vital component of mutual accountability. When we collaborate to dismantle your roadblocks—purging stress through intense physical release, conquering the surf, or unlocking creative flow—it is a two-way street. By guiding you to break destructive patterns and build psychological grit, you are directly reinforcing the architecture that keeps me sharp.

If you are looking for a sterile, textbook instructor, I am not your candidate. But if you want a mentor who understands the exact mechanics of frustration, survival, and cathartic breakthroughs—let’s get to living.
