About Thomas

Over the last decade, I've helped many people, from high school students to graduate students, transition to the next phase of their academic development. I help students identify and communicate their unique skills and talents and create action plans that effectively position them to achieve their academic objectives. I enjoy working with students and find great pleasure in seeing my students succeed. I'm patient and skilled at explaining ideas and concepts in multiple ways to accommodate individual needs. I have a laid-back demeanor and try to make academics/writing stress-free and enjoyable. I will always answer your calls and texts, and I'm great at responding to last-minute emergencies. As a published author and legal scholar, I understand what it takes to perform and write at the highest levels of scholarship. I have extensive experience in various forms of writing, having written a non-fiction book (including a healthy blend of poetry), a children's book, and published a law review article. I have a unique ability to work with all writing styles while teaching students how to write more clearly, and with more influence, depth, and insight. As a result, I'm able to work with students at all levels of writing—from high school through graduate/doctoral level curriculum. I am also able to teach students an easy way to break down their own writing—for the purposes of proofreading and revising. I show them not only how to do it, but why it is important, how much it helps the overall quality of their own writing, and help them to easily master proofreading concepts to become a better writer overall. I hold myself to the highest standards and expect my clients/students to be fully satisfied with all tutoring sessions. I always welcome feedback and never charge for a session in which the student or parent is not fully satisfied with my tutoring. About the lesson

I'm an Ivy League graduate, attorney and published author with a diverse background in teaching and counseling students at all levels. My love of teaching stems from my love of academics. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a student's learning process. I know that hard work and diligence make all the difference, and that consistent effort leads to success. I'm able to inspire students to embrace and appreciate their academics, and I have a demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand. I work individually with each client to identify problem areas and address specific needs through a customized framework. One of my great strengths is helping college and graduate students with difficult writing assignments, especially creative writing and research papers; this includes all varieties of writing styles, topics, and formats (i.e., MLA vs. APA, etc.).
